FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to pay to attend a program?
No. We will provide accommodations for travel, hotel, and meals in accordance with our policy and according to the parameters outlined in the AdvaMed Code of Ethics. These arrangements are made through a formal electronic invitation process and handled by our events coordinators.
How do I register?
Contact your local Abbott representative or a member of our Academic Development Team.
How many events may I attend?
We allow for attendance based on the training needs of current fellows throughout the course of their training curriculum in accordance with specific local program parameters, which may be set by the specific training institution. The fellows should discuss such parameters with their applicable program leadership.
How do you select your faculty?
We select faculty by their academic, professional, and clinical experience. For most programs, Abbott selects nationally recognized physicians who masterfully present their specialties.
How do you decide what courses to offer in your programs?
We conduct meetings annually to gather input from physicians on course content, curriculum design, and program scheduling.
I am not sure which programs are right for me. Who I do I contact?

I just graduated from a fellowship. Can I still attend these courses?
Yes. Courses are designed to meet the educational needs of fellows from their first year of fellowship to their first three years after fellowship. Look for the course overview and audience recommendations when reviewing the course calendar.
Will Abbott pay for me to attend national society or board review courses?
We follow federal guidelines and corporate policies regarding financial support and payments to health care professionals. Professional education grants are available for institutions and organizations. For details about the process and parameters, visit the Abbott Grant Applications page.
